Breath Body Basics with Blair and Breanne 4:30-5:45pm

Breath Body Basics offers a space where we will gather to practice being in our bodies through meditation, breath work, and mindful movement. Relying on yogic breathing techniques and postures, the classes will draw from many styles of yoga - vinyasa, yin, kundalini, restorative - in order to guide the student into a deep felt experience of both effort and relaxation. Breath Body Basics is co-designed by Blair Lamb and Breanne Ward, who will alternate weeks as lead teacher. Come join us for whatever you may be needing from time on your mat.  All levels welcome!

Breathe and Flow Yoga with Erica 6-7:15pm (special yin + reiki classes will be 4/1, 5/6 & 6/3)

This all levels class uses yoga postures and breath together to create space to notice the mind and the body. By focusing on breath and movement, we will tune into the present moment by quieting the mind. Mindful Yoga aims to explore the effect that mindfulness can have on everyday stress and anxiety.

 

All Levels Yoga with Cara 7:30-8:45pm (4/15 & 4/29 Yoga for coping & healing with Sunshine)

This class is offered for people with any level of experience, and incorporates physical postures, breathing exercises, short meditation, and sound as tools to tune our awareness into the energies and sensations of the body. Using the breath as a guide, this class aims to support us in finding self-acceptance and self-love. All are welcome!

Movement as Metaphor with Chelsa 12-1

Chelsa’s healing philosophy is rooted in an earth-based practice informed by Core Shamanism, Reiki, Candle Work, and Dance/Movement Therapy. Chelsa’s movement-based work is a synergy of her earth-based practices and her traditional education; allowing for a communion of the mind, body, and spirit.

 

 

Silent Meditation group practice with Natasha and Nicki 7:30-8:30pm

Simple Sweet Silent Space held by Natasha & Nicki. All levels & silent practices welcome! Guidance Provided as needed!

 

Wednesdays
10-11am Wake Up and Flow with Georgiana

to get your day started! This class offers a fluid and energetic practice to connect mind, body, and soul.  All levels are welcome.

 

Fair-Amount Food Forest meetups (2nd & 4th- 3/27,4/10,4/24,5/8 ,5/22,6/12) 6:30-8pm

You can find out more about the initiative on our website www.fairamountfoodforest.org. We are planning a 5 acre edible public food forest garden that is educational, open harvest, and community powered in the park system.

 
Portrait Cooperative with Meta (1st, 3rd & 5th- 4/3, 4/17, 5/1, 5/15, 5/29, 6/5, 6/19) 6-9pm

Everyone takes turns sitting for an evening and/or finds volunteer models. Potluck snacks too. This group has bounced around a bit,and are happy to land with Ahimsa! Please contact Meta if you would like to join us. metazhuraw@gmail.com

Refuge Recovery with Steve 6-7:15pm

Refuge Recovery is a mindfulness-based addiction recovery community that practices and utilizes Buddhist philosophy as the foundation of the recovery process. Our weekly meeting is peer-led and is open to anyone seeking refuge from any kind of addiction. Each week we meditate together, read excerpts from the book Refuge Recovery and share our experiences with the group. 

 

LASA with Yvonne 7:30-8:30  (4/4, 5/2,6/6)

A friendly, non judgmental supportive, informal environment where sexual assault survivors will be able to share their story, receive resources and begin the healing process as they move from victim to victor.

 

Fridays
Somatic Therapy Sessions Scheduled 1 on 1 with Mariana  11-3pm

I am offering free sessions of transformative touch, which is a healing modality that integrates bodywork and talk therapy.

 

Through a combination of touch and periods of dialogue and reflection, we will work together to promote self-awareness of body and mind. Somatic therapy encourages you to discover the wisdom of your body and nurtures a sense of grounding, ease, and wholeness from within.

 

During a session, clients remain fully clothed and lay flat on a massage table. I will offer hands-on contact in a gentle and non-invasive way in areas of your body such as feet, shoulders, hips, and arms.

Yes to the Benefits of Yin with Neha and Sunshine 6-7:30pm

Yin offers a style of yoga in which the connective tissue length through physical practice which body weight and gravity are used to ease bones away from bones so tissue binds.

 

 Postures are held longer helping to explore experience on a deeper level.

Yin increases circulation in the joints, adds flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone, joints and add balance to body flow to increase energy levels.

Breathwork Workshop with Rob (4/6,4/20, 5/4,5/18, 6/1, 6/15) 1pm - 3:30pm

We will begin with group discussion and intention setting, transition into an hour of breathing, and conclude with time for integration and group sharing. Conscious connected breathing, also known as "circular" breathing, is an incredibly powerful tool within all of us to heal on the physical, mental and emotional level. Let us all return to our natural state of ease, creativity, and expansion =) 

 

Writers Group with Neha (4/13, 5/11, 6/8) 3:30-5pm

This group is an opportunity for writers to share their work and receive constructive feedback if they would like. Being in a group will hopefully encourage consistency in writing and writers of all kinds and experiences are welcome.

infant massage course with August (4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12) 11-12

This class is a five week course that will teach the parent or caregiver how to give their baby(s) loving attentive touch and massage for parent-bonding and general well-being for both baby and giver. Parents and caretakers who attend with the children are encouraged to participate in an art workshop for youth. Parents can also drop their children off for the 2 hour class.
 
Poetry Open Mic with Mike - 4p-6pm (4/14, 5/12, 6/9)

A poetry circle for sharing what inspires and transpires in our lives. Are you a writer of short stories, spoken word, or poetry who seeks a community of writers to share and listen with? Have a favorite poet you'd like to read out loud with folks? A lover of words who'd like to come and listen? Please join us! All skill levels and styles welcome.
